28th September - 2nd October '09

This week our focus has been birthdays/balloons.

We read a story called "The Blue Balloon" (Communication - reading)

We coloured an outline picture of Spot the dog at his Birthday party (Communication skills - writing/mark-making)

Some more examples of mark-making activities we have enjoyed:

Rolling with paint

Free drawing

making patterns with our fingers in shaving foam

In this ICT activity on the Plasma screen computer, we counted out and 'drew' 4 candles on the birthday cake.

We used our thinking skills to create a simple repeating 2-colour pattern using our forefingers

During a PSE Circle Time session, we had a visit from our Persona doll 'Emily'. We talked about how she felt on her first day at school and had a think about what skills are needed to work and play together nicely.

We have had lots of fun in the play fort on the infant yard.

We have been using different skills in our free play:
Showing curiosity and exploring (Thinking)
Talk to themselves and others (Communication)

ICT

Match pictures (Number)

On Friday we all took a balloon home each according to what colour group we are in:
