Elmer week

We looked for objects in our Nursery yard which matched the colours on our paint charts

Parachute games

"5 elephants went out to play"

We learnt about the artist Kandinsky who uses lots of colours and shapes in his paintings. We copied one of his paintings "circles"

We decorated our own Elmers on the make it table by cutting up and gluing coloured squares from paint charts

We designed our own 'Elmer day' elephants on the Interactive Whiteboard

Colouring Elmer

Number work - we counted the Elmers then looked for the number on our number fan

PSD (circle time) We spoke about what makes us special

We talked about how we all experience the same feelings.  We looked at pictures and sorted them.
We compared ourselves to smarties - we all look different on the outside but are all the same inside.
We enjoyed sorting and tasting the smarties!

Playing our Elmer board game.

Problem solving - Elmer squirted water everywhere and we decided together what materials would be best for mopping it up.  We tested sponges, paper napkins, mop and bucket, foil, plastic and dish cloths.
