Language 18th - 22nd Jan '10

'Letters and Sounds'


We each had a drumstick/beater and explored the outdoor area and discovered how sounds are made. We had fun tapping, stroking, etc on different surfaces.

We copied patterns on the Interactive whiteboard


We designed winter clothes with matching patterns



We have been practising our number recognition/counting/formation on the Interactive Whiteboard.

We have been practising our number formation on the chalkboards outside




We laid number cards to 10 along the carpet. We closed our eyes while we each took turns to take away a card. We then had to work out which number was missing from the number track.


Personal & Social Development 18th - 22nd Jan '10

Our PSD theme this half term is 'Going for goals' .

This week we played a game where we passed a tambourine and a bunch of keys to each other in a circle. We talked about improvements we could make e.g. passing them quieter/louder/faster/slower and tried these suggestions out.

We have been experimenting with magnets on our 'Let's investigate' table.

Beginning of Spring term 2010

The beginning of the Spring Term saw lots of snow! At the first fall on Tues 5th Jan we all wrapped up nice and warm by putting on our coats and wellies and going outside for a brief moment to experience it.




We have been threading numbers to 10 onto laces in the correct order.

Dear Parents,
