Ugly Bug Party

We ended the half term by having an 'Ugly Bug tea party'.

We made jelly with a stanley snail or worm sweet inside

We also iced either a biscuit or a cake with a picture of our favourite minibeast

In the afternoon we wore our ugly bug masks and enjoyed our jelly and bicuits/cakes together

Infants Fun Day

Butterflies!

Our butterflies finally hatched out of their cocoons! We set them free by the school pond.

Knowledge & Understanding

We have been continuing to observe our ants and caterpillars.

The ants have been busy building tunnels

The caterpillars ate their food and grew so big!

The caterpillars then worked hard to build themselves a cocoon. They have pretty gold tips.

We transferred them to the butterfly garden and we are now waiting for them to turn into beautiful painted lady butterflies.

We went on a minibeast hunt. We found spiders, slugs, butterflies, ladybirds and ants

We have been talking about the lifecycle of a butterfly and sequencing pictures

We have been talking about rhyming words. Here we are playing rhyming bingo.

We made spiders with play dough

We played with 'gloop' in the water tray

Creative development

We have been making minibeast masks

We made model spiders by painting egg boxes with black paint and adding pipe cleaners for legs
